Veyil

Hi Friends,
Saw the movie “veyil” yesterday…… just wanted to share my opinion on that movie… those who hate to know anything about that movie kindly delete this mail, right now!
Those who don’t know anything about this movie, this comes under production of director Shankar, awesome debut for two people here director(re-debut after a long gap though) and music director, viz. vasanthabalan and GV Prakash, resp. cast : bharath, pasupathi, bhavana, shreya reddy
First of all, hats-off to the guts shown by the producer and director to take up such a script and to have so much confidence on tamizh people, but going back to history tamizh people had hardly welcomed movies which aim on only story rather than masala stuff. This movie comes in the series of walking on knife stuff—anti-masala movies.
This movie potrays the life of two brothers… one is blessed and always has angel luck on his side the other one is cursed(infact more than that), he faces nothing but failure and humiliation in each and every walk of his life ! Not pointing at anybody, in general persons who are peela type, those who want to show off, enjoy ngra perula chumma koothu adikkanum nu ninaikravanga, those who don’t want to see the other part of life, believe in fantasy, if these words are often used by you—discotheque, low hips, hot dogs, pizzas, hot dogs, guys-gals, malls etc etc these persons pls don’t go near the theatre… double meaning jokes/paatu, kutthu paatu , vetti fight, punch dialogue, mookai jokes idhellam konjam kooda kidayaadhu.. so those who want these in each and every movie , this is not the movie for you(it was atrocious to witness few youngsters, in the name of enjoying, was booing and giving unnecessary comments even in the saddest part of the movie)
Not a single scene in the movie is taken for commercial or masala stuff…. You can’t watch for entertainment in this movie… you won’t get any message in this movie.. nothing but real life…..but don’t think its of documentary type…. Not at all… you have very good music here, you have practical love here, you have affection here, you have typical village stuffs here(nayyandi-nakkal), you have happiness here, you have pain and sorrow here…. those who can feel others pain, those who can appreciate very good acting, those who are fed up with kind of perarasu’s movies, those who can involve fully with real life characters depicted in the movie and have a feel of it, it is THE movie for you. You can watch with your family……
Wonderful portrayal of real life, correct character selection, natural acting by everyone in the movie, very good songs and background score, wonderful location, good art work etc etc are the highlights of movie. The movie is a bit slow and depicting both sides of life, but that’s the way our life is.
Overall we know shankar till now as a wonderful business minded director knowing the pulse of people but he has proved that he also wants good talents to come up and has given a statement that quality movies depicting life should also come up once in a while, like this one.
Last word, If you feel that cinema is only for entertainment –real life shouldn’t be shown or if you can’t feel other’s pain and feeling, better don’t watch the movie !!!
